Wichita United FC Pre-Kicks is a soccer program designed to introduce boys and girls to soccer at its foundation. Parents and families are welcome to contact the program director for additional details such as dates, times and availability. In addition, childcare centers, churches, other sports teams, school friends, etc. are all welcome to arrange sessions!
Exciting
The Wichita United FC Pre-Kicks Program is a soccer program designed to introduce foundation soccer to boys and girls at its and will provide a tremendous head start in technical abilities and gross motor skills. In addition to providing a fun, healthy activity for children 2 – 5 years of age, children enrolled in the program will practice age-appropriate, basic individual skills, fitness, and sportsmanship.
Challenging
Wichita United Pre-Kicks is providing an opportunity for children to be challenged through fun games and team interaction. Our coaches use a child-centered approach to engage multiple learning styles, distributed in three stages; discovery, explorer, and advanced. Instructional methods use verbalization, demonstration, and tactile experience to teach children the game of soccer.
Inspiring
Our unique approach is to engage in partnership with local child care providers, early childhood learning centers, and the youth in our community. The relationship will open the door to engage hundreds if not thousands of children to soccer activities for the first time and at the same time allow Wichita United FC to become a friendly household name.
DISCOVERY
The Discovery stage will focus on balance, coordination, sensorimotor skills and curiosity. Classes include simple structured games and free-form learning environments. Through basic movements, exercises and exploratory behavior, children will build confidence through repetition to learn new tasks through discovery as well as build trust with the instructor
This class introduces activities with the soccer ball to children 2–5 years The class is a 30-minute activity specially designed to bring the soccer ball to the children’s environment. The class will be offered at least once per week (6 weeks) by a Wichita United FC certified instructor.
EXPLORER

ADVANCED
In this stage, children will engage in activities that focus on basic soccer skills as well as an introduction to small-sided games through non-competitive play. Classes include structured activities and games where children of all learning styles will practice teamwork, building relationships, and establishing trust. Through team building concepts, your child will practice advanced fundamental soccer skills and be able to begin applying them to game situations.
